The most common and popular is blogger.com (blogspot), but there are many others out there that are commonly used too, like livejournal.com, blogspirit.com (i used to use this before, it's quite good), myspace's blog, etc.

Why not? Some of my friends use livejournal, and i think it's quite ok. What do you mean actually by "blogging platform" here?

I never thought as live journal as a place to blog. I am interested in promoting my business. I thought live journal was like a diary and somewhat personal. But that's whats cool about MYLOT, I can be enlightened. TY

I was just checking out live journal the other day. A couple of my family members hang out there. I didn't really think about it being a blogging platform.

Too funny! Your blog was a trip. Very amusing. Makes a whole lot of sense though. It's really not marketing vs content, one really can't survive without the other.

I personally use blogspot for all three of my blogs and no they don't charge a fee. They are a good host to go with at first when your first starting out as you are just learning the ropes and they make it very easy for you to set up a blog. I think when you get more advanced at blogging, then you can choose to go with a site that charges a fee.

Three blogs? Did you have to register for each account separately or can you have unlimited blogs from one account?

Your blog is very interesting. Do you believe in all that mystical stuff? Aliens? Not totally sure what I believe. I like reading about all the stuff. I was very disappointed with the Mel Gibson movie SIGNS, I really thought it would be more scientific.

I am having a very difficult time trying to define it. So I'm going to borrow a definition: What Are Blogs? Like most online creations, the exact definition of "blogs" is still very much in flux. At its very basic, blogs — or "Web logs" — are literally online diaries with articles, writings, photos, Web links or other entries made by the blogs' creators, or "bloggers."

You might want to take a look at this article by Steve Pavlina on How to Make Money from Your Blog. It's one of the most sensible articles on blogging I;ve read. http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2006/05/how-to-make-money-from-your-blog/

I am using BLOGGER (www.blogger.com) until now. and I didn't see any problem. So I am recommending it to you. Before you start blogging, do some research on what to blog, think of what's the future of your blog, how much time do you have. And why you want to blog? Blogging requires "a lot" of time. There are millions of bloggers out there, only few are successfull. (I am talking about Pro Blogging)

I like blogger.com. A lot of bloggers jumped ship there while the new version was in beta, but it's out of beta now and has a lot more useful features than it used to. It's easy to use. It was the first place I started blogging and I haven't had any real problems figuring it out. If you want to take a look, my blog url is: http://robharrington.blogspot.com

my space is pretty good but you can't really make much revenue of it if of course you were into it for the revenue. They have a rather user friendly interface and also wide expanse of people. I recently used their blog facilities and its fantastic. Check it out . www.Myspace.com/amy_emelia

i consider blogger to the best one to recommend.. its really easy blogging there.. the only thing that will make you ask how if you'll be changing layouts manually to make it more presentable and pleasing to the eyes.. but besides of the pre-made layouts of blogger.. you could just simply surf the net and search for free layouts specially made for blooger! from there.. you'll be inspired of posting because of the catchy layout you have!^^ one good thing also in blogging is that you can earn profits!!^^ so you should really start blogging!^^ btw http://kravre.solitary-cross.net is where i do blogging..^^ half of my life was spent blogging on blogger.. juz that i moved to learn the manual way..^^ but soon i'll be back for some reasons.. (profitwise resons^^) hope to see you drop by at my bloggy!!^^ good luck!!^^

Thanks, I didn't even know you could search for blogger layouts, that's nice to know. Sometimes it just plain easier to use a ready made layout instead of making you own. I visited your blog and it looks like your into anime. Are you an affiliate for any anime companies?
• United States
2 Feb 07
Did you know you can make a 10% commission as an affiliate for anime companies? A lot of companies offer affiliate programs. There is no fees for signing up as an affiliate. All they really requiree is a website that meets their guides which is standard with most places on the internet. You can check your favorite anime online stores and see if they have an affiliate program. It's free and you can make some money!

oow.. thanks for visiting! anyways.. its really better if you're gonna use the pre made layout for blogger.. what you only have to do is to download them and walah! their usable already..^^ one site is at www.blogskins.com wherein you could look at a lot of layouts to choose from!^^ about my blog.. i started having blogmates when i entered anime forums before.. way back 2004.. that's actually one of my interests!^^ and from there i saw that they're using anime layouts.. and so i was influenced! hehe.. not really in an anime company though.. i wish!^^

I use blogger. Setting the blog up (as you've probably found out) is easy. The difficult bit is getting people to read it. I've had some success with blog directories and also some success by submitting articles to Reddit. Blogging is time-consuming, but enormous fun, not least because it's like being in control of your own magazine and you can write about anything you want to. Good luck with it.

Thanks, I signed up with blogger.com and I only made one post. I am planning to add another post this wek. I will definitely check out Reddit. I have never heard of it. I know blogging is the easy part and the hard part is getting people to notice it.
