In India there are more rules than in any other countries. All the rules are helping the officials to make easy bribe money.Police take the good chunk. For example a rule that unmarried couple should not take room in a lodge. But they do take rooms with an adjustment with the police. For violating such a rule police are making cash. Why allow the police to make money in between, rather remove that rule itself. People will realise thier mistake by themselves.

You MLM have touched upon a very relevant topic and I agree that there is much to be done in the area of corruption. The morale of the Police force (here I speak of Indian Police) is on a whole-time low. Curiously enough, India on the whole is slowly taking a lead in the area of corruption, with the arm of law helplessly watching from far without the required grit and determination to apprehend those responsible for mismanagement and corruption at high places. Even the government is unable to nab the culprits since indulgence in corruption has become deep rooted and spread out in every nook and corner of the country. As a matter of fact, corruption is turning out to be a national phenomenon. Unscrupulous and high profile persons occupying important posts all over the country and who have made corruption the hall mark of their respective positions, are openly indulging in corrupt acts, thus wantonly betraying the faith bestowed on them by the government and the unsuspecting public. The lacklustr manner in which highly placed individuals are hoodwinking the public by playing with public money or miking them of their hardearned money, is also a matter of great concern. Unfortunaetly, the fact that law (read Police force) itself being corrupt, has emboldened other people and government departments to make hay while the sun shined. This is not to say that every department or people at the helm of affairs is corrupt. There are also dedicated people at various levels of Indian hierarchy who have set unique examples of dedicated work, but whose hands aer tied due to the emboldened stand taken by some crafty individuals. In this regard, the recent instance of UK police settign an example by unearthing a terror plot which blew the lid off a high level conspiracy by the terrorists should not be overlooked. After 9/11 strike in New York by the Al Qaida trained terrorists, an imminent threat perception loomed large anywhere in the US and for that matter those countries who had allied with US in the fight against terrorism. In the wake of such threats and subsequent catastrophic incidents wrought by the terrorists, there always was a spine chilling panic among the innocent people in most countries. However, the UK police set an example by unearthing the terror plot which should be seen as a big achievement and their action deserves to be lauded for the very reason that the impossible was achived by alerting the world of similar catastrophes anywhere in the world and gave a horrible surprise to terrorists, sending home a warning not to speculate or throw their weight around at will and that the world cannot be taken for a ride. The rare display of extraordinary initiative in alerting the world and also by nabbing the criminals who have had their hands firmly behind the terrorist outfits was a source of inspiration to law enforcement people in India as well.
