yes, i have had this habit. I got attached to this scientific thinking... now i have been into kabbalah. Its also about thinking and analysing any subject. you have length, width and depth for any subject matter to understand it well. then there are intellectual faculties of chochmah(wisdom), binah (analysis), and daas(concentration or connection). Its not like the eastern meditation. eastern meditation is mainly about the meditation on a sound, or point etc.. But just by meditating on on abject, one cannot go into the depth of the object. One needs the length of the details and explanations and also the width of different types of explanations to grasp various dimensions of the concept. Only then, one can go to the depth of the essence of the concept. So, you need to study and analyse a lot to invent the aeroplane. Not just meditating will help!

I am now, well after I took a critical thinking course in my college. It really enlightened me on alotof things and helped me become a better writer and thinker, as well as a better observer.

I think when it is neccesary but I never overthink things. That would be a critical mistake.
