Social bookmarking

I recently started using bookmarking to promote my online business. I'm not exactly sure of the benefits. Is anybody familiar with the pros and cons of bookmarking?

I've started to use social booking as a means to promote business also. I found searchles to be interesting. Its a great place to learn new things. I found mylot from there.

It looks pretty cool. It doesn't look as complicated as some of the bookmarking networks I have seen. Might give it a whirl in the near future.
