Ever think that you should be out in the woods hunting instead of work

I love to hunt I don't get to as often as I like. My favorite seasson is bow. There is something about being in the woods all quite and seeing the deer around. The bow is much lighter and easier to use than a gun. Plus the season is so short and they need to let more people get doe permits.

I'm not a big fan of hunting. My Dad used to take me fishing and hunting. He was so anal about it. You literally couldn't BREATHE. No shadows! LOL My husband owns a bow, one night when he was out of town, I heard some strange noises so I grabbed the bow. I couldn't load the arrow in it. It was pretty funny because as a last resort I was planning on hitting any intruders on the head with the bow and than stab them with the arrow. I'm sooooo glad it was a false alarm. I would much rather be spending my day at the beach catching some rays vs. hunting.

WOW MsLady, About 4 years ago, I went hunting for the first time. I hear it's so much fun, so me being the curious one, I decided I would go...I got my overall and boots together, even went and bought me some earplugs..lol... So that early morning, I go hunting all excited and we find a spot and we sit...and sit, So I try to hold a conversation and I get the shush move...Then we walk more and more and I have to go to the restroom. Might I add it's cold..I thought I would go back to the house and they said NOOOO you have to go out here...(Turned me off) Then I saw deer running and got scared..lol.. Horrible experience, I know now hunting is not for me...lol... You go Girl!!!Hunt on...lol

My exhusband is a hunter. He took me into the woods with him during deer season. We walked for quite a while before we stopped to rest at the base of a large tree. We sat there quietly for about a long time. The woods were growing dusky and the sound of twigs snapping around me was getting more and more unnerving for me. When suddenly, I heard a loud "snore" that startled me! I gave him a quick elbow to his side and he gave a yelp. I asked how he was going to see any deer with his eyes shut and also told him that it was growing too dark to see anything and that we should leave. I was totally freaked out by the quickening darkness and prompted him to move faster. I have no idea how he was able to get out of the woods in the dark, but we entered the clearing and I breathed a sigh of relief. Nope, I am not a hunter. But, will cook up a nice piece of venison that any hunter provides for me.

i agree hunting in the woods would be infinitely preferable to submitting to wage slavery, unfortunatly that is the lot of the modern world, we must all subsume our instincts and instead make money for other, more detached individuals who know little and care less about the nature of man

Yes wouldn't it be great to be a hunting guide or to have your own property for others to hunt on.

For my hubby, that's a daily thought, lol! I've often thought he would be much happier as a guide. Too bad having that much fun doesn't pay as well. :P It's a good thing there's some kind of hunting available almost year round so he gets plenty of practice & I keep a full freezer. lol ;D
