The first question is what kind of plant? Does it like a lot of sun, which should be close to a south window if possible, requiring little will do well close to a north window. All plants need some kind of sun light. Does your bedroom have plently of natural sunlight during the day. Plants also do there best if they get plenty of rest, which means nighttime (as mother nature provides). TV's on in the room does provide a light which can confuse your plants. They need their sleep too, and they do not sleep well with the TV on. :)

My house plants grow best in south or west windows, they get much sun. I water them once a week, and about once a month, I add miracle grow. If the leaves turn yellow or brown, you are over watering them. If the leaves are wilty, they need a drink! Hope this helps.

The only plants I have ever had any luck with indoors is a Christmas cactus and a peace lily. One thing, don't go for difficult plants like African violets, or those pretty plants that have red and yellow on the leaves, they are testy. Find something that can live in low light or partial shade. The great thing about a peace lily is that it lets you know what it needs. If its thirsty the leaves droop, it doesn't need a ton of light, and they get pretty blooms that aren't too feminine, but they are nice and green.

I have 50 some African Violets in my kitchen area that faces North and North East. They are very easy to grow for me, but I know they are not an easy palnt for everyone. I have 3 Christmas cactuses, 4 pineapple plants and 6 other cactuses. I think it all depends on the kind of plant you have, temp of the room, light in the room. If the leaves are dropping I think it is due to lack of light. If they are wilty, I think they need a drink.

You need a good growing medium in a container that drains well. You also need some kind of light source. Sunlight preferably, though you can use fluorecents or grow lights. Some plants won't do well if they get too cold, like plants on the floor or too close to a window in the winter. Feed them once a month or so with a diluted plant fertilizer.I like "Peters" plant food.DO NOT OVER WATER.More plants die off because they are over watered.Check your soil before you water to see if you need to.Good luck!

Ivies, such as pothos and philodendron, and succulents, such as aloe and cactus, are plants that can go for long periods withoout watering or care. In the darker areas of your home, consider the use of silk plants-all they require is an occasional trip to the shower to remove the dust. It is possible to have all benefits of indoor plants without letting them complicate your life.
