Why do so many gay and lesbian people have trouble telling their physicians they are gay?

I've never told any doctor I went to that I'm a lesbian. I guess I've just felt they didn't need to know. They weren't treating anything where that should matter. Although, it is kind of odd that I didn't tell my therapist I guess. You'd think you could tell them anything, unlike a physician.

I tell a new doctor on my first visit. I think it's important. Because I'm a health educator. I think, though, it has a lot to do with homphobia and fear of reaction by doctors.

its because some country or states dont recognize such gender like gays and lesbian and it will just fall to discrimination and misconceptualize by the patient and be ashamed to go back to his physician.
