Since you are still young, I adivised you to go check another round or perharps you are nervous. Try to be calm and take a deep breath in a waiting room. Before that take a fish oils due to its EPA and DHA contents and follow by spirulina. By the way continue your diet and exercise. Enjoy your life..

Well indeed try not to stress yourself very much and all the usual things that they say..i.e. proper diet, not much salty foods, exercise etc..but if you have in your family and it doesnt go to extreme values it is "normal". Actually you ll have lower chances for a stroke than anyone of us!Of course they is medication..lassix or diuretics. Have a healthy life and dont worry that much!

Since you are on medication it is best that you do not take any herbs that mayl cause problems for you. I have a few friends around your age who are on medication for high blood pressure and it does run in their family. Something you need to think about - have you had a history of high blood pressure? Most doctors will not put you on the medication unless you prsent the symptoms over a prolonged period of time (a few months to a year or longer). If you don't want to be on the meds for life, talk to your doctor. Since you are so young and you have changed your diet & exercise, they may lower you dosage gradually then take you off of the medication for awhile to see how your pressure does. Keep in mind that having high blood pressure can be very dangerous to your health and even though you don't want to be on the meds, they could be saving your life.

Does anyone else in the family have high blood pressure? It is a young age to have a problem so I am wondering if you were nervous when you saw the Doctor. I suggest that you go back to him/her again and have another check done to be sure that it wasn't a 'once off' reading. Now when you are sitting in the waiting room, take several deep breaths and relax. If you don't smoke and are not overweight it could be that you were tense when the first reading was done. Have a diet of fruit and vegetables plus lean meat. Do some exercise daily - even walking helps. Good luck and I hope it was just an abnormal reading. :)
