Macy's has pulled from its shelves and website 2 styles of Sean John hooded jackets- advertized as having faux fur actually were made with dog fur. The jackets were made in China. Many domestic dogs and cats and raccoon dogs (a type of wild dogs) are killed for meat and fur for export to america and europe.

True, however you're leading the facts a little by not being more specific about the case in general. After an investigation by the Humane Society in the US, it was determined that the 2 jackets were made with fur from a species of dog known as "raccoon dog". Raccoon dogs are not domestic animals, for anyone wondering. They have been raised in large packs because their fur resembles that of a raccoon. The issue will likely come back on Sean Combes as being his fault, when in reality his designers and personnel were simply unaware of the source of the material. Once the investigation was complete, Sean Combes instructed his outerwear licensee to immediately cease the production of any garment using those materials. Other designers who've faced similar episodes recently with this fur have been Andrew Marc, Calvin Klein and others. It's unfortunate and regretable, and thankfully the Humane Society is taking further measures to stop it from happening in the future, but it has little to do with the designer and everything to do with those in the regions that are hunting the raccoon dogs and misrepresening the sale of the fur.

wow, that's interesting, i wonder though if they knew it was dog fur, or if china forgot to tell them that little detail! my bro in law was looking on the pita website for a research project and saw how china skins the dogs and stuff! he said he has a new outlook on dogs!
