Apparently, a man was caught trying to smuggle a crocodile, six snakes, 11 flying squirrels and 46 turtles and tortoises through the Hong Kong Airport. All in his luggage. I don't even know how this is possible *laugh* In any case, none of the animals were harmed, thank goodness, and they were all rescued from his luggage. It was a family vacation - the gang was all along for a good time. I can imagine having all kinds of trouble getting half that many animals in my luggage. Thanks for the post.

Don't tell me...the tip off that he was smuggling animals in his luggage is because he was using an elephant for its trunk. hahahahahaha Sorry, I couldn't resist! Seriously, I can not believe that someone would do something like that. Did that person think those animals would be able to make such a flight with where they put thos suit cases and how they handle them? Heck, getting them onto the plane could have killed half of them!! Glad it was caught before any animal was hurt!!!

That is outrages to do something like that to those poor animals. I wonder how much they fined him for doing such a thing, that was alot of animals to have in ones luggage. I hope they fined him per animal vs one lump fine.

incredible... i don't know how he does it... especially the crocodile and snakes... how does he fit those into his luggage? aren't these two animals going to fight against one another? also, pity the squirrels, turtles and tortoises... ridiculous... yes, people sure do funy things... may be he tries to smuggle them and sell them at a very high price in wherever he is going... i'm glad he gets caught though...

The desperate things some people do...well animal smuggling is indeed a lucrative underground marlket, but what amazes me is how this guy managed to squeeze all those animals into his luggage! Wouldnt such a large number of animals is lugge make some noise or emit some smell that would arouse suspicions?

I did that once! My ex-boyfriend bought a stuffed crocodile (little one) as a present for his son when we went to Egypt. WE got stopped at Customs and I said it was mine as my boyfriend was more respectable than me! I had to write an apology to the Egyptian government!

The article doesn't say; but there's no way this guy put alllll those animals in one suitcase. If nothing else the customs people would get the gest something was up when the croc starting having lunch on those turtles and squirrels. I'm so glad that they were all rescued unharmed. People anger me so much with the way they will treat an animal.

How on earth... I'm amazed but relieved that none were harmed, though I don't see how that could have been possible. That's 64 animals! o_o Odd indeed...I hope they have all found a safe place to reside, at least temporarily, and that they won't have to go through something like that again.
