Ramayan comes first before Mahabharat.

Ram is hero in Ramayan and in Mahabharat, krishna is the hero.

Good question but no one has answers to it. Not only ramayan or mahabharat take Bible, Quran or eny Holy books we don't know who have written them but we are just following them.
