What is your general opinion of the series? I loved the first manga and I am 40 pages into the second one. I loved the artwork and the storylines, and some of it is just so great. The first movie was alright, but I honestly liked the second one a lot better. You have to love a movie that has that great of gun battles. I also liked the Stand Alone Complex series, and I almost cried during 2nd Gig.

SAC and 2nd gig were both very deep and complex series. I was so engrossed in both. I am huge fan of the Ghost in the shell series. It is really deep and serious anime. VEry thought provoking as well. It asks basic and fundamental questions about human mind and society and the relation between the two. How the alteration of one always effects the other.

I honestly came really close to crying at the end of GITS:SAC 2nd. It was just such a great finale. I'm a guy by the way, so that's saying a lot if a television show almost brought me to tears.

yes yes. I do agree. I felt the same way. But i felt an even stronger feeling at the end of Curious Play. I was younger back then when it aired in my country. I could barely hold back. And ... ahem... I am a guy as well! Nice talking to you man!

I've seen the two movies and a couple of episodes of Stand Alone Complex. The animation if gorgeous and the theme of the first movie is gripping and thought provoking. The second one was visually stunning, but... well, I did see it while stoned, so the plot was lost on me.

The plot was pretty well hidden until the last 5 minutes, so I could see how that happened :). I loved the action and animation of the second one, and I thought that the plot was good, but it didn't get into as much of a deep philosophy about human existence.

This was an extremely interesting series and a great story all in all.. I loved it! I saw it in English and the voice acting was pretty good too (in Animax). I've recently bought a manga of the series, but I'm yet to read it. And I believe the same author is also the mangaka for Appleseed?

Shirow Masamune was the author of Appleseed. I've heard that it was pretty similar and it is on my reading list.

Ye, IT'S very good series, I agree, although I only watch the Stand Alone Complex. It's one of the anime with the best animation I've ever watched.

I love the SAC and 2nd GIG. It's highly captivating. So does the movie Innocence. Don't you agree how great the graphic is?? Especially the shooting and the fighting scenes. I love it!

i've watch both the series and the movie Innocence. after i watch the first episode, i was so engrossed that i have to follow it up. and that was when i was still studying, its either i will go to class late because i want to watch it (there's a rerun in animax during lunchtime) or i sleep very, very late (its shown before midnight.) although i prefer the plot of stand alone complex series, the 2nd gig story has a more human side to it that touched me so much (and yes, i was pretty much sobbing during the ending, im such a wuss!) everything was written so well, and the graphics, perfect.
