Do any of you have a brother, sister, father, mother, spouse, etc. deployed with the military. If so where and for how long will they be gone. My husband is deployed with the United States Air Force in Baghdad and will return in January.

Well if she had to pick a branch of service. I would have to say the air force is one of the best choices out there. I support each branch of the military and what they stand for but Ihave to say with my personal experience the air force is the best family oriented. This was my husbands first deployment he has been in for about 1 1/2 years. He enlisted for 6 years to start with. He is only deployed for 4 1/2 months. Unlike most other branches that are gone from 6 months to a year sometimes more. My heart aches for those who have to be apart for that long. It's hard with the little time that I have to go through right now. I have a 1 year old daughter and another on the way.

My husband, myself and our son are all ex-military. I got my discharge when we got married - as women had to do in those days. My husband spent a fair bit of time away from home for the couple of years he was still in after we got married but somehow we managed to cope with the separations. After all we did know that was a very real possibility because that was his job at the time. To those who have family away, hang in there because the time will soon pass and the reunions are all that you hope they will be plus a little more besides.

yup, husband is in the navy...he did 2 tours when we were on sea duty...6 months each. the 2nd one was only 6 weeks after our baby girl was born. that was rough!! i totally believe in what he is there for, and i hate when people talk negatively about it.

Hi I have a military husband. A chaplain in the navy. He just got back from a 6 month deployment. I have a son-in-law who is heading for Kosovo, he is in the Army National Guard and will be gone for over a year. And two nephews in the Air Force. I also have a soon to be nephew in the Marines who will be returning soon from a 6 month deployment. I think my family has got the military covered. Except for the coast guard.
