With vinegar, mayonnaise or catsup?

I think I started having my french fries with catsup first and then I developed a knack dipping them into a mixture of catsup and mayonnaise (bad for the diet, I know!). I gather that there are some who eat them with vinegar...what about you?

I usually mix the catsup and mayonnaise to dip in my french fries..good that I did not gain weight. But I have full control of my weights every now and then. Once, I eat french fries I can't stop it. Hmmm...

I found it difficult to believe as well but I watched that episode where they tackled french fries dipped in vinegar in TLC so I guess it's legit --- some DO have fries with vinegar! Sour cream's a great choice as well!

When I lived near Boston they always had vinegar out on the tables in certain restaurants that had fries! I disliked it, but I guess a lot of people do!! Myself- I like ketchup and hot sauce! Yum!

I actually eat fries without any dip. If I did use a dip, sometimes I go with catsup or mixtrue of catsup or mayo. Cheese dip is also good.

I rarely eat french fries anymore but usually eat them with catsup. For some reason, the only time I would put vinegar on them were at fairs, but it's pretty good as long as there's plenty of salt on them too. When I bake or saute potatoes at home (a healthier french fry alternative) we use catsup.

Vinegar? Well Ive never thought of enjoying my all time fave food in the world French Fries like that. Id give it a try one of these days. As for me, I enjoy it even plainly with salt. But I like it with powdered flavor like cheese or sour cream. But what I enjoy most is if it is smothered with melted cheese and grated cheese at the same time! Yummy!

Hello hikarushidou! Yep, there are some people who love to eat fries with vinegar...I still can't imagine the taste, though, but like you, I'll give it a try one of these days. Thanks for the comment =) Any cheese in particular?

I know this isn't on the list, but it is also worth mentioning one more choice: butter. After years of having butter on baked potato and mashed potato, I found it quite ironic that no one serves fries with butter. I do like mayo and ketchup on fries, but buttery slickness beats them all!
