I agree completely. Its really killing imagination of the kids. I have now banned my son's TV and suddenly he is playing ball games in the play ground, painting in his spare time. He keeps sneaking off to view TV especialy at his friends places but then I talked to all the mothers of hs friends and asked them not to let them watch TV during play time and since then we can hear shouts of children playing in our block and its such a nice sound.

I think what they should do is mix computer games with fitness, like they do on those dance machines, then there would be no inactiveness.

hello!i just read a very intersting question that we meet every day.i think you are right, because in our days are existing a lot of ways to spend your free time and children love the ways which are passive.and that is not good for their health.they love to stay infront of a computer and play games or speak with their friends!and that is all.this is one of the reason for what we have problems with our weight.we dont make enough exercises!what is your opinion?have a nice day!

Yeah definetly.. it is changing the way things used to be. Internet is undoubtedly an infinite resource for kids and everyone. Kids are overwhelmed by the amount of things like online games, chatting (including voice and video chat), buying, playing games on LANs, competiting with other world-wide players, acquiring knowledge, sharing information, and so many many stuffs that kids can do. Internet is a craze for kids. But obviously the side effects of this is on the "physical growth" of the kid. The latter are too self-contained or self-centered infront of the pc. Kids are no longer motivated to go and play different sports. They prefer to spend countless hours on the net doing virtual things. ;) Greetz!
