How do you teach a 13 month old to stop throwing?

My son is always throwing thing. This may turn him into a sport star someday. In mean time I'm tired of being pegged in the head with blocks, cars, and remote controls.

This is a tough one for me to learn, I'm still trying to learn, but one of the biggest things is to not yell or otherwise express anger. Even though it's negative reaction to the throwing behavior, it's still a reaction and could therefore encourage your son to keep throwing to keep getting your attention.

My son gets lots of attention. I think he likes to see things fly. Maybe it will make him some money someday.

My motto is: If you abuse it, you lose it. Very simple. And yes, your child is old enough to learn this. Very quickly, if fact. It only takes two times of losing your toy and you learn very quickly. Explain to him/her what is going to happen first. Good luck.
