Hi friends, Is there anyone who would like to share opinions/reviews on Manirathnam's latest release. The movie was premiered in Toronto on 11th & released on 12th Jan. Initial responses claim it to be a performance oriented film. Your opinion.

Guru still - Very bad choreography. It should have being done by Shiamak Davar. I think Saroj Khan should get retired. Instead of giving bad comments on dance program, she should see her self first. She threw water on A. R. Raheman music. Bad Editing. I think Maniratnam should have taken a lot of care in making this film.
Overall Guru was a fantastic movie. After a long time an integrated effort in terms of cinematic excellence. Once again diretor Mani Ratnam disappoints. As in his last two Hindi films, here again Mani Ratnam fails in getting a good screenplay. Though first half is passable, second half is totally dragging, climax is most disappointing part of the film. In his enthusiasm to present a real life hero, writer commits mistakes in content. Here the Producer Mani Ratnam has deliberately leaked that the subject is very closely resembling to the life and struggle of Industrialist Dhirubhai Ambani and so viewers know the end and also he used Abhishek-Ash personal relationship to woe the film and so forgotten about the subject. Cinematographer Rajiv Menon and Music Director A.R.Rahman has lived up to expectation. Abhishek lacks matured look of a Industrialist, and Ash still has to go a lot in emotions. More than one handicapped Character and also director is very much obsessed with Rain which is in the backdrop for so many dramatic scene. Mani- ratnam should opt for a outside script next time.
