In my own personal life I have a tendency to call them instead to give that personal touch. Now on the internet it is a little different when my friends write me I enjoy writing back to them.

Well, if a person writes you you should at least take the time to write them back. I know its a pain since its easier to just get online and email, but sometimes, that personal note, means alot.

Yes I do have people who send me Christmas Cards along with a letter inserted inside. I do try to send them a Christmas Card back. But sometimes I have a tendency to phone them instead.

Yes, these days it's so much easier just to e-mail. But I still have friends and family who don't have computers so I take the time to write back. It's always nice to write a letter as well as recieve one and know the person put their time into writing you that letter.

I never call. I prefer to write, even for people I see often, I'd rather write an email.

when my friends write me a letter, i do write them back right away. although it's sweeter to call them, we have different time schedules that why i don't want to bother them, that's why i just give them letters to keep in touch and to know what has happened with them. it's nice to know that at busiest time right now, technology is an aid to keep in touch and bridge the gap od the distances.

I always write back thank god for the internet. I am real bad at sending gifts through the mail.If I had to write letters all the time I probably would not respond as much.

I never get a letter from anyone. I do send out personal cards time to time to people. I answer all my emails. I do not like talking on the phone at all though.

I always respond to anyone and everyone that takes the time out to write to me. I usually email. If they don't have a computer, then I will use a pen and paper the old fashion way.

I try! Oh how I try but I rarely get around to it. I don't know why. I really love to send and recieve letters but for some reason I have a hard time getting motivated to write them.

I absolutely love writing to friends. I think the act of sitting down and mulling over a piece of paper with your thoughts is amazing. I am more clear. I let more out. I feel more in touch with my friends when I am actually writing. The physicality is just something you don't get when you use the phone or the internet. More people should write. I think it would make the world a better place.

Hello, well, yes it is a lot easier on the internet. ecan even make more riends on the internet. Like you, I enjoy writing back to them, specially because all the incoming and outgoing messages will go in specific folders. As a matter of fact, we all know that we have even reunited with old friends, perhaps from our early school years!

I haven't received a letter in years. My family and friends all use the internet. In fact we have our own family web site so we just post our news there and everyone can read it. Or if it something not meant for general discussion, we email each other. Odd, though, because I love to write. I think it is just that life is so hectic it is easier to use the computer.

Depending on what their message to you is, if it seems to require a reply, I think that is almost a bit rude not to repsond. I really don't get many handwritten letters, though.. in this day and age, handwritten letters are probably dying out more and more, what with the internet and cell phones that can text message, let alone all of the other ways and means of communication *laugh* But yes, I think that it is always best to respond unless you feel as if what has been communicated to you doesn't require any response. ^_^

I still tend to pick up the phone no matter in what form the communication arrives! I'm terrible with slow mail, but fairly consistent with online communication.
