I absolutely love House. This season has been very good. There is no one on TV like him, and Hugh Laurie is FANTASTIC! Especially considering he is, I think, British. He's got that Jersey accent down pat (not the obnoxious stereotype one, the actual one).

He sounds a bit reminiscent of Prince Charles in real life, so the accent must be good, to hide that!

I don't watch the show, but can confirm that the name you are looking for is Hugh Laurie, and he started comedy whilst in the Oxford/Cambridge footlights, the drama part of the ancient universities (where the Monty Python team first met), where he first teamed up with the well-known actor/comedian/aristocratic grandson of CB Fry, Mr Stephen Fry (played Oscar Wilde in the biographical film 'Wilde'). They appeared together for about 10 years, especially famed in the UK for a tv series of PG Wodehouses 'Jeeves & Wooster'. The 2 were forced to seperate, when Stephen Fry's bi-polar depression meant they could not work as often. A great comedian, he has, according to all I've heard, developed into a great straight actor. Hope this little biography helped. Enjoy the show.

I watch it whenever I can. Its a great show. And its Hugh Laurie who plays Dr. Gregory House. He has by far the best bedside manner to watch on TV.
