I feel it's safe to assume that davdbugs cats and dogs both are smarter than he is, considering the ignorant questions he tends to ask.

Well I think both are very smart but you know cats get us to come up to them where we make dogs come to us. Perhaps the cats are smarter. They seem to train us very well.

I think dog's are smarter, although I have a very smart cat too. The dog just seems to understand everything I say and listens to everything. He gives such loyalty and love that Ioften tell my kids teasingly that he listens better than they do. He is a very smart animal. I bought him from the SPCA 7 years ago and I have found him to be the best dog I ever had. He was 11 months old when I got him and he is now 8. And he is still like a puppyin many ways.

That would depend on what sort of dog you have... and if you train it or not. Between your average dog or cat... I believe they are equal. The cat is far more independant than the dog and it will be a lot harder to train him to jump loops for your enjoyment. It is not that he cannot do it. It is just that it is smarter than the dog in that respect. He basically tells you to go jump in the lake as it was not brought in this world to amuse you.
