Anime vs Manga

Which do you prefere, anime or manga? If you had to choose, anyway. As far as Manga goes, I've only read Loveless and a little bit of Death Note. I read the Loveless Manga before watching the series and really liked it. I think I prefer it to the anime, although I enjoy hearing the voices and seeing them move ^_^ Death Note is the reverse for me. I saw the Anime first and prefer it. I just understood it better and it seemed to get the point a little more, although they're very similar. So maybe I'm just influenced by my introduction to an anime/manga. Any thoughts/opinions/experiences?

I prefer manga because that is usually the stories true form. When manga is turned into anime they tend to leave out a lot of details and emotions that are in the manga.

I'd say I love the anime version more than manga. For simple reasons--I love the musics, the motions of the characters, the colorful scenes..... Although I also like reading manga, but I prefer to anime. But there're some series which are better in the manga version than in the anime version. -.-

I prefer anime, no doubt about it. As for manga I've read some charpters of some series but I don't like it very much, animated series are much better for me and they're not only based in reading. So, as long as I don't read manga I can tell you my favorite animes which are FullMetal Alchemist, Golden Boy and BECK. The first is about a brothers journey, it's full of action, drama and super-powers, my favorite anime of all times until now. Golden Boy is about a man jumping from work to work, with lots of comedy... very enjoyable series to watch. Then if you like music you've gotta watch BECK, it has a great history and a great OST.

Whether I choose manga or anime, it would depend on situation. I love both of them. For me, there are certain situations when manga is better than anime, and vice versa. For example, when manga come out first, it will always has the original storyline. So when the anime version of it come out, if they elaborate more on the story, that is okay. But if they modify any plot just to suit the market or following laws etc, I think it just spoils the story. The same with anime. If the anime come out first, later come a manga version of it, the anime is always better than manga.

I prefer manga for the details in the artwork. But for the sake of the storyline, I like to watch the anime instead.

I find that I generally prefer watching anime to reading manga, but I have done both. A couple of years ago I was so into anime that I created a few Anime Music Videos (AMV's) at animemusicvideos.org under this same username of shywolf. I really love One Piece and made about three videos just for it alone. I also looked a bit of the One Piece manga. But most of the mangas that I read weren't connected to the animes that I watched.. they were just mangas that I found that looked interesting. ^_^

I've read a good number of mangas. And a hole lot of anime. But i have to say that the best between both is probably Anime when it comes to voice acting . All you need is Japanese voice with english subs and your all set! Along with this it is very humouress i.e. One Piece. But if you read the manga it is as funny but it's just that you gotta interpret the thing in your mind. So you have to have a 'picture mind' (In other words, instead of thinking with words you think by seeing pictures) So i am going to go with Anime And hey if you want to read some good mangas/animes i'd recommand ; One piece, Kenshin, Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist.

I prefer manga because the stories are complete. In anime's they've already cut out a lot of bits and pieces from the manga.

i prefer manga. although anime has sound and you can see the motion, manga just feels 10X better. that and the fact that dubbing is evil

It depends. Sometimes the storyline and jokes are better in the manga, so I prefer it to the anime. Sometimes, the jokes and storyline are better in the anime than the manga. It just depends.
