What are your experiences from living in Brooklyn, New York? Did you enjoy your time? What neighborhood did you live in? What was it like renting your apartment? How long did you live there? I'd really love to hear about your time in Brooklyn. I've lived in Brooklyn for four years now. I've been in Clinton Hill/Fort Greene area as well as Bed-Stuy/Bushwick. I love venturing down into Park Slope and Cobble Hill, too. It's just great to live in such an exciting, innovative area. I can't wait to see how Brooklyn grows in the coming years.

I am not a New Yorker, but my hubby is. I did live in Bensenhurst, Brooklyn for awhile.(6 months) Then in Oceanside (4 years) and Long Beach (4 years) and then Long Island. (5 years) I found NY to be very cultural. However, I am a south western gal. In the desert with boots and a cowgirl hat. Wild animals still roam around, donkeys, horses, coyotees, and so forth. For me, NY was to fast, dirty, and crowded. I need the space, clean air, and peace and quiet. To each their own, right?

I definitely know what you mean. And I need a break every so often from the grit and grime of the city. I was just on a trip to Virginia to see a friend, and while there one of her friends told me what my writing suffered from was starshine deficiency. And I think he's write. It's important to keep in touch with nature, to draw from it and write about it; and I do need to seek a greater balance between the whirlwind of New York and the calm of the rest of the country.

You would see a very different cultural change to where I live. I am way out in the foot hills in the desert in the southwest. It is peaceful and quiet and you can really get intouch with your inner thoughts and feelings.

My ex is from Bushwick. I lived in Sheepshead by for my entire life until the end of 2005 (so that would be...17 years.) I loved it and I miss it a lot. I lived with my parents at the time (since I was young,) so I have no experiences on renting or anything but I do love the area.
