Couple confesses to killing noisy neighbors - news story

An Italian couple have confessed to killing four neighbors including a toddler after a long feud over noise.
30 year old Raffaella Castagna, her two year old son, her mother and also a neighbor were found with their throats slit on December 11 in Castagna's apartment. Their home had also regrettably been set ablaze.
Earlier this week police arrested Olindo Romano and Rosa Bazzi, a middle-aged couple with no previous criminal record who live in the same building as the murdered family. They confessed to the crimes after a ten hour interrogation and Bazzi admitted that she killed the two year old child.
The neighbors had a long-running feud with the Castagnas whom they accused of being noisy - but surviving members of the Castagna family never imagined they would go so far.

That is just so sad. It is horrible how some people take the law into theor own hands, and just try to fix things with violence. I am sad when I think about what the world has becomed!

I so agree with you. It is so very sad that something like noise can cost so many lives. And the saddest is the life of a small one only starting to live. :-(

Wow, that is extremely sad. I mean had only one of them done it, maybe I would they that the person was mentally unstable, but for both of them to have done it, there's just no excuse. I think it really is sad what society has come to. Over a little bit of noise? They could've just moved out. Plain and simple.

how many times have i felt like doing this? oh my you are right it is a great saddnes that society has degenerated to such an extent that the fantasies we all hold can become translated into reality when the usual mechanisms of restraignt become so eroded that they no longer prevent such actions being carried out

that makes me sick.. that people would stoop to that level just because of a feud.... its kind of scary too because everyday people deal with feuds like that... and tey didnt have a record either... they just snapped... ugh its so sad.

Who in the world could think, killing is the way to solve a noise issue. I hope these two get a long slow terrible sentence. They are sick.

What is this world coming to. What is one persons noise could be music to anothers ears. The sound a toddler crying could be noise to a neighbor, but the most wonderful music to a Mother's ears. I am deeply sadden for how our society is going. Instead of killing them, would it not of been easier for them to move? Well, guess our hard earned tax dollars will be providing this wacko couple room and board for a few years. Jeez if they couldn't handle the neighbors noise, how will they handle prison noise. How could anyone kill an innocent 2 year old? What type of individual could have such a cold heart? Very Sad indeed!

Oh my gosh! That is so horrible!!! They even killed the baby!
If they were to that point of losing control, why didn't that older couple just move? How could people become so disgruntled with their neighbors that they would murder the family over being too noisy??? That is just horrible!

Oh my goodness!! I am just horrified by this story. Most people have had neighbors that they can't stand, or that are to loud, but to kill them over it? Hmm, well I wonder how they'll like their new neighbors...in prision! I can't image killing anyone, but especially the two year old! That child couldn't even defend himself/herself at all!

This is the sort of thing that also makes it clear humans are not necessarily meant to be packed together in close living quarters. i already think there are far too many of us occupying the earth, but, having said that, I'm not advocating doing away with neighbors just because they annoy you. _

That's such a depressing thing to hear. A feud of noise causes two people to kill an entire family?! I mean come on, what is the world coming to? I deal with noisey people all the time but I don't intend to go and kill them because of it.
