There's something magical about Harry Potter. Whenever I read the books I feel like I actually go to Hogwarts. There's something about J.K. Rowling's writing style that makes you feel like you personally know all the characters. It deals with timeless themes of good versus evil and shows that good must always triumph. It explores the ideals of friendship and depicts growing pains that everyone remembers. They are just fascinating books.

I totally agree with you. JK is a fantastic writer. I would go as far to say the best writer alive today.

I am not sure whta it is exactly that makes these particular fantasy stories so popular. Goodness knows there are a lot of really good magic stories out there that could also have hit the nation with such a craze, but for some reason Harry Potter was what did it. I really do believe that they are amazing stories, myself, but it is fascinating to me wondering why these books specifically took the nation by storm. All I know is taht I am _so_ glad that it happened, because it is encouraging younger people to read who might never have picke dup a book on their own otherwise. I find it sad how little the youth of today read even compared to kids when I was younger. Although I always read more than most, lol! ^_^

These books took me back to my childhood. At first they were whimsical and magical. Nostalgic, like reading the Chronicles of Narnia for the first time all over again.
There is more but thats the most important, the way they took me back.

Harry Potter himself is what makes it so popular. Plenty of boys and girls can identify with him because he lives in today's generation. And JKR is such a wonderful author because she caught the readers' attention with just the title of her very first HP book "The Boy Who Lived".
