You know, when you think about retiring, you think about great weather, golf courses, swimming, exotic locale...whatever! You want low taxes, lots of culture and good health care. You don't think about your own city! I found a list of top cities in the state of Texas to retire to...and lo and behold, my city is #3 on the list! I guess we have it pretty good after all! LOL

If I get to retire I am thinking of somewhere I can have houseplants and garden at least a bit. Somehwhere, where my old body will not hurt when it gets cold. Decent air, so preferably not in a city. Also somewhere that the taxes don't eat up my social secutity if it is still there.

We complain in the summer it is too hot, and with this crazy winter weather we're having, my hubby is complaining that it is TOO COLD! LOL...we always said we'd like to find a place where it is about 70 degrees year round.

I just checked for the city where we live in FL and the city where we plan to move later this year when we retire. They both have about the same population and many of the same features. We just feel that South FL is getting way too expensive a place to live, so we are planning to move further north in FL, but to a place where we will still have many things we want nearby when we retire. Very interesting article. Thanks for sharing.

You're so right, I didn't even think of that. Everything but a city I thought off. Thanks for sharing this, it's a very useful information.
