Limewire itself is not a virus nor will it cause your PC to get infected with one. What will happen is if you download a virus via something you are downloading. I would suggest that you always scan a file you download with your anti virus before you open that file. One more thing the point you made about your PC slowing down is because Limewire is very CPU intensive and will use most of your computers resources while you are running it. There are other software programs that are not as intensive you just have to experiment. But Be aware that any program you use, you run the risk of downloading a virus from the files. SCAN SCAN SCAN

I've been using Limewire for years. I didn't have problems using it. If you got a virus out of this site, I think it's your pc's problem. Install a very reliable anti virus to protect your pc. Limewire has nothing to do with your pc.It's your responsiblity to protect your pc.

Well i dont feel it would bring virus to your computer until and unless you are aware of what you are downloading. Try not to download those that you feel can crash your system...
