Tatooing crystals to store data?

I belive that the next step in data storage is not in magnetic strips (hard drives) but in tatooing micro stips of information into crystals and using laser readers specialy constructed to read the micro tatoo. terabytes? ha, something like that would hold a terabyte of information in a cm. sized spacing. seeing asthough there would be a 3D space now unlike modern hard drives wich are 2D and inefficiant. just think one crystal could hold all the information on the world wide web. though the cost for such a thing is unrealistic i think it deserves further study.

If it's possible, it will happen. Nothing can stop technology but that won't happen in the near future.
