why the companies seeking candidates with reference?

Many standard companies recruit a candidate who is having employee referral. Will this kind of recruitment really help the company? If so,How?

Bacause by then they can roughly have an ideas what kind of company and skills you have had experiences on and actually thats help a lot for both employer you.
