Can someone teach me how to set up a HTML server?

Please someone teach me how to set up a HTML server with Apache! I have a domain name and i want to host it myself.

you need a public ip address. fist if you have you need to install dns server you have to know how to install it befor e continue: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/81491 do this and i will continue to tell you

also you need to install IIS http://www.tech-faq.com/configure-iis.html this is good website it will help you

You have to have an ftp client. Try smart ftp. When you create your site most hosting companies will designate your homepage with the label index.html or default.html If I were you I would just get a free web editor for starters such as mozilla composer.

I want to host the website myself so i don't need a ftp client cause the files are on my computer. I don't know how to allocate the domain name to my ip address

There are bundle packages that you can download and install which install all the services on your computer. I personally use Apache2Triad. It includes several server back ends and remote administration utilities. Plus it includes several other services running on your machine such as a mail server if you want to run it.
