What do you think is an alternative for plastic bag?

cloth grocery bags - saving the environment with the use of cloth resuable bags for carried groceries etc.
Yes indeed I would prefer the paper over plastic. An even better alternative is for me to carry a set of canvas or cloth bags with handles to save even more trees. and to prevent landfills from more platic..

In my view the alternate to smaller plastic bags is to go green and take our own reusable bags that can be purchased at many outlets. Walmart has one, as does Super Store and other large chains. Granted it takes some getting used to and developing the habit of taking these bags with you when you go shopping....but once you get used to it is a great way to eliminate the mountains of plastic shopping bags we all collect. When they go to landfills they have discovered that the emissions are not good for the environment nor is the fact they take forever to break down. So I don't have to reject plastic shopping bags because we have another solution. Now garbage bags...that is a whole other question..what else could we use? Suggestions anyone? Raia

of course!, they are biodegradable, not much of a garbage problem
