folder named "CON"

hi i found from a friend that in windows XP u cant create a folder by name CON or con...but the more stranger thing i found out is u can create this folder by just copying the word con right from here try it and tell me is it workin in all pc's...

You will never succeed to that and also you are not able to make these names too. con nul lpt1 lpt2 lpt3 com1 com2 and com3 . you have prize if you make a mamed them. but you can use this option to lock your cd(s) You can create a folder named con out of windows ans so this folder can not be poened at windows.

yes it can be created out of windows.... that is in DOS

'con' is basically system folder which is used by system but you can create it by DOS. To create 'con' folder : md\\.\\drive_name:\con if you cannot delete this folder, ask me i will help you out.

I have tried to copy word con from above and renaming the folder but i don't get success .So Please tell me whether this work in your PC .A folder of con name can't be created in window xp due to security reason as i have heard .
