My cat got skunked

That's really sad. Where was your cat? That skunk smell is quite potent. Ketchup and tomatoe juice are the only way that I know of to help, and since it didn't, it will have to wear off on it's own. So sorry.

That may be dangerous for your cat. Don't do that. Call the vet first dear.

Oh no!!!! You know my mtoher was warning about that the other day! I live near a forest and the dog just takes off... never once did that run through my head. But now I guess it happens. So what do u do for it? Has it happened before? Is there some kind of remedy u can use?

Thanks it was a nightmare. I washed her in tomatoe juice and let it soak in her than wash her. Thank god she is use to me washing her. I give her a bath in my kitchen sink every month. She just sits there like a big lump. She still smells but not as bad. somebody told from here to use douch you know something Massegill . So Im gonna try that tommorrow Im wore out.

That is horrible! I have never had an animal skunked before, thank goodness. But I have been skunked, I use to work in the woods as a forester, I walked across a log that was a home for a skunk and I was srayed before I knew it. I had to destroy my clothes. We always used burnt motor oil and tomato juice to get the smell out of our hair and off our skin. The clothes are always hopeless so it is just as well to burn them.
