Now that my Eagles are done, I am looking forward to baseball season and seeing how my Phillies do this year. They just missed the playoffs last year and have improved their pitching and team this season. Ryan Howard and Chase Utley had great seasons and our pitching looks to be better. Are you ready for baseball? Who is your team? What are your expectations of your team?

Chicago White Sox 2007 Division Champs :) That would be a nice. And who knows they might just win another World Series. Can't wait till the season starts. I can't even wait till spring training begins. Although the Chicago Bears won today and it was exciting my heart still belongs to baseball.

The White Sox are a very good team and I look for them to be back in the playoffs next year. How did you feel about the Sox trading Freddy Garcia to the Phillies? I think it is great for my Phillies as we needed a good starting pitcher. I am looking forward to this season as the Phillies have solid starting pitching this year and have a great lineup. Good luck to your Sox and hope they do well.

I was a little disappointed when i heard the news. I really thought Garcia did a good job last season and i really like him. I think we got some decent prospects in the trade but i really wanted us to keep Garcia. Atleast he went to a good team Phillies. I could see Philadelphia being a contender next season too.

Ugh... don't remind me! My hubby is a huge baseball fan -- in fact his whole family LOVES baseball. I can't stand it. Moves too slowly for me. It's pretty much a given that I'll find myself sitting in the stands of a baseball game at least a couple of times each season though. :P

Baseball is a slow moving sport but I enjoy going to the games in person and being in the crowd and cheering when things are going well for the home team. The atmosphere is exciting. I don't like the rain delays very much though. Minor league baseball is fun to watch, especially ours which does a lot of things to entertain the children.

I used to enjoy going out to games too, for the atmosphere, but now when I go with my hubby and his family they are so glued to the game that I feel like I'm sitting there by myself! It's not so bad when I bring a friend or two along.

Baseball is always fun and I am sure that your Cubs will do better this year. They have made a few changes and for the better and will see how things work out. Good luck to your team. Hope they do well, except when they play the Phillies. LOL

Even though i dislike the Cubs and i dont think this year will be their year. I do think they made some key offseason moves that will improve their play for the 07' season.

Baseball season is here and my Phillie are off to a slow start again and looks like they may blow another game. Maybe your Cubs will have a better season this year. I believe they picked up some good players and are healthier. i will keep my fingers crossed for your team, except for when they play my team of course. :-)

Erie Seawolves - our AA Ball Team
I hate when baseball season comes around because it means the end of hockey pretty much. I do have to admit that I love to take in a local AA ballgame here with our SeaWolves and do enjoy the summer afternoons watching the games but I have to say it's not like hockey!

Baseball - The Wilmington Blue Rocks is my favorite minor league baseball team.
This is true that hockey season is coming to an end. For my Flyers that may be a good thing since they are having an awful year so far. I love going to Phillies games as well as our single A games, the Wilmington Blue Rocks. It is fun going to minor league games as well as pro games. It is closer to the action and feel like you are on the field yourself.

I am definitely looking forward to it. As far as your Phillies go, Garcia is a nice additon, though I am not sure if this will be enough to put you guys over the top. In the AL, I pull for Baltimore, though they are light years away from being a contender. I heard a rumor that Ripken would be interested in buying the Orioles. We can only hope. I root for the Rockies. They have made some strides this off season, but not near enough. They needed a top notch pitcher and didn't get that done. I'm not complaining, as they did get Jason Hirsch, a 24 y/o minor leaguer who posted two sub-3.00 ERA's the last two years. Still, I don't think he is ready and we'll have to suffer another season bringing up the rear again. Tavares is a nive addition to the outfield, but not likely to make a difference without the solid pitching we need.

I like the Rockies but I see it difficult for them to be successful with the ballpark that they play in. You will need pitchers that throw a lot of ground balls. Same thing with my Phillies since their ballpark is hitter friendly. Starting pitching is not a problem for us this year but our bullpen could be a problem. I like Baltimore as well and hope they get back to being good again in the near future.

I don't watch baseball games on tv, but I don't ever mind playing it once in awhile. I don't root for any team since I don't know them either. But, good luck to your team and I hope they do good this year.

My only issue with the start of baseball is that it means the final days of hockey. *sniff*
