What ways have you found to promote your blog or website?

There are tons of free services that people have used, and more becoming available. Which ways have you found to promote your website or blog? If your looking for some extra exposure check out http://blogaboutyourblog.com we are going to be launching a new advertising promotion soon, which will give free advertising

I use 2 different traffic exchange services - mainly. I use (blogexplosion.com) and (blogmad.net). They're both great blog only traffic exchanges. I also use (trafficswarm.com). It's not exactly like the traditional traffic exchanges, which makes it my favorite.

Yes i use both blogexplosion and blogmad, you can usually find blogaboutyourblog.com on the Battle of the Blogs at Blog explosion. We also use traffic swarm, but I dont like it very much

one of the good way to promote blog or website is by writing articles and submit it to article directory. Write good article and must have a good content in it. To attract people to visit it, use the best headlines..

there's a lot of article submission website to submit your articles for free. one of them is www.articlecity.com,www.goarticles.com,www.ezine.com and many more there..just make some research on SE and you will get it..search key -Free Article Submisson- you will love it. for some reason, readers will look up you articles and they can copy your articles and link that you have listed. Now there you are...a free traffic for you if they put your articles to any of their website or magazines..:) just my 2cents :)

There are several sites where you can exchange hits, just browse. Personally I just use one manual surf to promote one PTP (Paid-to-Promote) url which is www.hit2hit.com. It's a good and simple website.

Just create a blog with interesting topics. So send to this blog a lot of traffic... and wait for new visitors :)

Anything goes really, just like this thread around here, it also works as a tool of promotion. So... I currently have two blogs, one is dedicated to reviews of my favorite music albums and another is dedicated to stories and pictures of my travels around the world. Another way to promote your website is by posting on other websites that feature a similar or related topic. And you should contribute good posts! A few years ago, I began posting on a related website and its webmaster posted in my forum in exchange. She contributed a lot of interesting posts and helped me to improve my website's design. By the way, if anyone else out there has a writing-related website and would like to exchange posts, just send me a pm!
