My daughter thinks she has a boyfriend. My husband and I are leary of the situation. What would you do if your child came home and mentioned they has a boy/girl friend?

My daughters talks very quietly when she is mentioning boys. That's because they know very well how I feel about boys and dating. (They are 9 years old). If my daughter ever came home and said that we would probably have a long talk. In the car. On the way to the boy's house. I also think that dating is OK at the appropriate time. I'm lobbying for 16 as the dating age, though if I can get them to agree to later I probably would. My daughters asked me together one day when they should start dating. I told them they both had my permission to start dating as soon as they got married. I got hit for that one.

It would depend on my childs age. I think a good (okay) age to start dating or going out on group dates is 15. If they were like 10 I would be scared. Some kids like my nieces ages 5 and 6 say they have bf but they don't mean it they just say that because they have a friend that's a boy. You should talk to your daughter and make sure she's not doing things she's not supposed to.
