I don't. I like it al dente, retaining a firm texture. Is there a secret to this? What's yours?

I hate under-cooked pasta. Have you ever eaten it where there was a big hunk of uncooked pasta in the plateful you had. My mother taught me to put a little bit of oil in the water where you boil the pasta and stir it a few times while cooking. Keeps it from sticking together!

Ok I will experiment on how "a little bit" is. Thank you!

Well, there is 2 ways. One is to bite into it to make sure if it is just right. My dad taught me this secret. Just take a piece of pasta and throw it onto the fridge. If it does not stick, cook it more. If it sticks, it means that most of the pasta is cooked. I would reccomend using both methods.

that's a good one. I'll try that, thanks.
