Do you have jaw pain?

Ok I know it's kinda weird but I have this horrible jaw pain. But the part that is weird is that it is ONLY when I take the first bite of something. It's so intense it's like having my jaw dislocated. But then that passes and I can eat normally. Is there anyone else that you know of that does this?

It is called TMJ tender mandibar joint pain (sp) I used to suffer with this condition years ago and it got to the point I could not eat, smile or anything without pain. They ended up operating on mine and realligned my jaw. Now I can eat anything I like the only time it hurts is if it is going to rain. I have been left with mild arthritis. Anti inflammatory tablets should help you.

Yikes. That does not sound good at all. How did they discover that's what the problem was?

I was born with both an underbite and an overbite so none of the teeth matched up. I was in my 30's when the pain got so intense that an operation was the only solution.

I experienced something similar & it turned out to be a tooth infection. Some antibiotics soon fixed it. i'm not saying what you have is the same, but it's possible.

Well it surly wouldn't hurt me to go see a dentist to have it checked out. Thank you for your response.
