I was wondering what type of dog is best with kids my two dogs are ok but they seem to be very short with the kids. I was wondering if big dogs are better than the little dogs like mine or are they even worse. My neighbor has a boxer it seems to be very friendly are they good dogs with kids.

It depends on your children's age and the size of your house and the amount that you can dedicate to your dog. Do you have ample time to go for a daily walk and take a boxer out? Boxers are dogs full of energy and need to get that out.

I can tell you, you cannot get anything better then a Boxer dog with children. They are very friendly and love children. They are in the working category of dogs and so have a lot of energy. That same energy you need with children. Personally I do not prefer small dogs as they bark a lot. The big dogs usually bark for a good reason. Many times boxers are mistaken for dangerous dogs just because of tehir look but it is definitely not the case.

i can only say that i love boxers, because it really gets along with kisd. they are very intelligent and they are very playfull. by these characteristics they are far more better than toy dogs.

With such a little child, why doesn't she just wait a while? any new dog will require a lot of time, energy and patience. Can she really give all of that to the child and a new dog?
Get her a dog breed book, so she can see what dogs are really like. Just because you like the look of a breed, doesn't make it the right one for you.

toy dogs are preferrable to kids because they are very sociable and loving and they have long patience with kids. you can also choose a dog that has a high or average intelligence so that it can be trained so that you can be sure that no harm can be done with your kids.
