My dentist just told me that I have been grinding my teeth at night and he can see it on my teeth so he suggested wearing a mouth guard at night. I don't like the mouth guard at all and can't sleep in it. Any advice?

Bruxism or teeth grinding is very common to any people regardless of ages.Clenching of jaw during night time and sleep time, is usually resulted to stress.Usual treatment is behavior modification, uses of mouth guard and biofeedback is helpful.Muscle relaxant is also needed if your jaw is very tight and obcourse you must correct your occlusion.

i've been grinding my teeth all my life when i sleep. so far for me there hasn't been any real damage, but my son on the other had started scraping his enamal down and now has nerve damage. since it does happen when you sleep, there is nothing much people can really do about it.
