Help my son is three and a half and still not potty trained

Hi I have a three year old son who has yet to be potty trained he is mentally and physically a healthy child but refuses to use the toilet I've tried putting him on the regular potty as well as the toilet but still no luck. I've been told that usually with little boys it might take a little longer to potty train but I am afraid that he would be five or more before he is fully trained. Are there any suggestions on what I could do to get the ball rolling.
