Piercing?

What do you think of piercing in general? Do you have some?
First, I have a piercing in my tongue for 3 years now. Of course if you don,t go to the right place for your piercing you can have some problem (especially the tongue). You have to make some research before doing it.
I think it,s a form of expression, but I don't like too much. Also I find stupid having it on genital part.
There is some place I don't understand why people get pierce. For exemple a girl at my school had her hand pierce. She said she did that because no one else had one there. You always use your hand and you have risk of infection there.
And you what do you think?

Oh well, i don't have any piercing. I am just wondering why would people destroy their own body by sticking in metals all over. Maybe you will find it cool, but definitely not me. Sorry if you doesn't agree with me. Just my 2 cents worth of opinion.
Hey, now i know where the phrase "just my 2 cents" works the best, here in myLot. You know what i mean...haha

I only have my ears peirced, which was all the rave in the 70's. I like some piercings if they are tactful. I don't care for the ones that are all over the body. I think a nose piercing looks good with a small stone, and I also like one eyebrow pierced. Now the tongue and belly button I don't care for so much. No one really sees the tongue they just know you have something in your mouth and can't understand you. The belly button I wouldn't do because of the infection it brings. But each to their own I always say.

Most of the people don't even know that I have my tongue pierce ( I have a smaller one and i never play with it) and I have o problem talking with it lol Only the first 2 week :P

i don't like piercings, especially on women, on the tounge...
Women look like ... you know what i mean ! It is also very bad for your teeth cause everytime you move the metal ring touches the tooth and slowly ruins it ! So think about it before getting one !

I think it is a huge form of personal expression. for a long time I wanted to get my tounge pierced but I didn't and now I really don't want to. I also know many who have gotten piercings in strange places and they have grown to hate them. I think extream pierceing is just a thing some people go through, most though grow out of it and get tired of it. Some dont. I guess it's just a personal thing.

I only have my ears pierced but then a lot of people do that. Other piercing I think is up to the individual. You say there is a high risk of infection in piercing a hand but I would think there would be a higher risk of infection getting the tongue pierced - just think of everything that goes through your mouth in just one day! Actually, the tongue is the one place I would not get pierced because it DOES affect speach. I have run into several people who have pierced tongues (kind of common) and everyone of them was difficult to understand after their tongue was pierced and the problem didn't go away over time. They could NOT speak clearly with it in their mouth.
