Many of the states from Texas to Illinois were effected with a 3 day ice storm. Oklahoma happens to be part of it. :) When just last week, we were complaining that the weather has been too warm and the plants are beginning to sprout new growth! Now the poor plants are covered in ice! Here is just one picture of this sight. If you want me to post more pics within this discussion, please feel free to let me know becaue I had a hard time choosing which picture to post for the week. :) Do you have any pictures to add yourself from this ice storm. Please feel free to share also. :)

Have you ever considered a job as a professional photographer? I think this looks like a picture that you would see on a wildlife calendar! Here in Iowa we didn't have much ice, but we have had plenty of snow. I'm so excited because I was starting to worry that we bought snow boots and snow pants for nothing! Please do add more pictures in this discussion!

click to enlarge - Poor tree frozen. This is before a large branch fell just behind it. I am so glad that large branch missed this baby tree!
Thank you for the beautiful compliment! I have been considering going professional. But I have to finish getting all the equipment that I need. :) So, here I sit at myLot earning my way slowly there. ha ha Until then, I like getting input from other see what you all like. :) It helps me learn more. Glad to hear that you got plenty of snow there!!! Now, maybe Medooley will make the snowman for that competition he called. Care to join in the competition? I bet you could kick Medooley's butt with your snowman. :)

1st off... The snow was no where near what you need for making a snow man. It was too light and fluffy, no packing qualities at all. 2nd there is no way that imadriscoll could make a better snowman than me. As soon as I get some wet snow here I will show you! 3rd Tia you are going down!

You really do have an amazing talent for photography! And snow/ice pictures like this are always lovely. We too have been having ice and snow the last few days here in Missouri, but I hadn't thought to step outside and photograph any of it myself *laugh* You're making me wish that I had done so! ^_~ Anyway, kudos on your lovely pictures! ^_^

Very nice picture Tia... I think that we all should start taking some sort of pictures and add them to your discussion. I will be looking for a picture to take this week in hopes to add it to your discussion next week.

Both pics you posted are really great. I esp like the first one. Still just raining here in KY. It's suppose to cool down but I don't know if we'll get any real snow or anything this year. Although I could do without the ice. Share more pics please :)

These ice storms must be so dangerous .. to have rain falling and then instantly freezing where it has fallen .. so many things must get damaged as the water expands while freezing .. and all those super slippery paths and steps .. it would be a real nightmare for me .. I can slip on a perfectly dry path in mid summer ... But, for all the dangers, I bet it can look beautiful ... phone wires sparkling like diamond necklaces draped between houses .. trees with a million crystals dancing in the breeze ... every blade of grass edge in silver frosting .. one of natures true wonders

All I care about is that everyone is ok. I heard that those stormes can get extremily dangerous. Hey you know me I worry about friends and family first then the material things. Glad it is over and all are safe.

Thank you for your concern! The last report I hear is that there are over 104,000 people without power here in Oklahoma! I feel so bad for those without power! It is sooooo cold here! But they have opened shelters all over the place. The only problem with that is it is hard to get anywhere. I am glad it is done. Hopefully this will allow those that need help to find it. We haven't even tried to leave our house yet. :)

A terrific picture! I added a comment to it (isn't it just a pain that you go to enlarge a picture and then there's no link back to the discussion!) I'm afraid that in boring old England we have only had rain and gales (but a little sunshine today). Ice storms are no fun, though, really!

I know what you mean when you say you wish it would link you back to the discussion. LOL But did you know that you could hit the backspace button and it will take you back to the previous page? Mine does...try it. :)

I love this picture and all of the others you took! I liked the warm weather...I wasn't complaining!! LOL The poor plants look beautiful, but they are breaking because of the wind outside. Poor plants! Do you have any other pictures! I would love to see more!! To bad you didn't get the trampoline in time, that would have been awesome! I wish I had some pictures of my own to share, but I don't have a camera that works right now! I love your pictures!! :D

Here in New York, we got a taste of the ice storm. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. There were a few downed trees and some minor fender benders. A few towns over, there was a very bad accident that killed three people. It was shown on the weather channel. Nothing really major at my house. I have some pics to share but for some reason it won't let me post them. I have a pic of a tree in my backyard that usually you can't touch the limbs but now some of the limbs are touching the ground.

Try opening the pic in your paint program, then go to file, save as, make sure it saves as a .jpg and it will save the pic as a smaller file. If there is meta data on the pic because it is a digital camera, the image is too large to upload. I would really love to see your pictures!!!

We have had nothing but snow and ice and freezing temps which is very unusual for us. I think you are experiencing the same storm we started with last week. Kids have been out of school for a whole week! Hope your weather warms up soon. Love the picture.

Thats a wonderful picture. I am from Illinois, but there is not much of an ice storm in my areaa. It has been started snowing here day before yesterday but its not proper snow but flurries and the streets are a little bit of icy and slippery.

Wow, what a storm! I like th pic you took. I don't like these kinds of storms because people get hurt on the ice, but they are incredibly beautiful otherwise.
