Is photography Art?

Is photography art, In my opinion I believe it can be a from of art because what I define art as is something that invokes thought and emotion and photography can evoke those types of feelings thought and strong emotion. On the other hand there is a lot of things out there so called art photography which is any thing but

I think photography definatley is art. It is an art to be able to take a picture and expose light properly. It may not take as much actual hands on work to capture a scene with a camera as say painting a scene with a brush, but there is still a definate art to composing a photograph, exposing properly and interpereting a scene. The end result I think is art as well.

I think it depend on the kind of photography you take, there are some kinds of photos I consider art, it depends on the way you take them and what you get in it, in my point of view, of course.
