Hi All How strange the www.mylot.com web site is!!! I have just read a report on the Reuters News Service, one of the "Better" News Services, about what the Iraqi Vice President said today. So I thought "Ah, that is interesting, I can follow that up in one of my discussions" ............. "The War In Iraq" See ......... http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/260180.aspx Then I thought about the EXCELLENT discussion that I saw and responded to today, about how we can end Terrorism....... See ......... http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/598239.aspx?p=2 The next thing I did was to search the mylot.com community to see what other people had been saying on the War in Iraq!! Has anyone else done a search for this? There is not a lot comes up!! Why is this? I have answered lots of posts about Terrorism, Bush, Blair, Iraq etc etc etc, and yet on a search, not very much! For your information, and I have put it here, because what I wanted to do was to answer lots of posts about the War, but could not find them! This is what Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi said on Monday (Today 15th Jan) .......... British troops could withdraw from Iraq within a year provided Iraq's own armed forces are reformed, Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi said on Monday. "If the British people would like their soldiers to withdraw we have no objection but ........ We should have to reform of our own Armed Forces," Hashemi told reporters during an official visit to London. Asked when he thought British troops could withdraw, Hashemi said: "Within one year if we go for this comprehensive reform plan. I am definitely sure that in one year we could complete the job properly." Hashemi also told reporters that Iranian influence in Iraq was "deep and exceptional." "We have plenty of evidence that Iran is becoming a major player in Iraq ... Wherever you go, you see their fingerprints," he said. A couple of questions this brings up......... 1. Does this mean that President Bush's plan to up grade the US forces by 21 THOUSAND mean that they will work hand-in-hand with the Iraqi Forces, (One final push so to speak) and then be withdrawn? 2. Prime Minister Tony Blair has already been quoted as saying the British Forces "Could" be started to withdrawn by the Spring of this year, does this mean that hopefully we will see some Troop withdrawal? 3. Does this mean that the "Insurgents" are slowly being beaten, and the War in Iraq can be "Won" ???? 4. If Iranian influence in Iraq are "deep and exceptional" does this mean that Iran is "Next on the List" ???? What do you think?

I t is a very real possibility that within a year they can stabilize things enough to withdraw troops. Alot can be acomplished in one year. I dont know if anyone can gurantee exactly a year , it may be right at it or close to it. I do think that the forces will have to work together to acomplish this. I think what happens with Iran itself will depend on their actions and its probaly going to be watched and dealt with on a one day at a time basis.

Thanks for your input. You are of course correct. A lot CAN be accomplised in one year, and I think it will! The Iranian thing is going to HAVE to be watched, but once the Iraqi people can sort things out for themselves, the better it will be! But..... Remember what Saddam did in Iran! We dont want that again!

I would just like to quote what Henry Kissinger once said: "... it is best to let them kill each other off" for "oil is too valuable a commodity to be left in the hands of Arabs." The rest is self explanatory.

The US has not gone to Iraq to vacate it. Leaving that oil rich country has never been an option in the mind of the Bush administration. This is the reason they do not let the situation there to calm down and continuously doing things like supporting one fraction over the other and killing of Saddam and then 2 of his collegues (tointensify retaliation). This all indicates that Bush has no plans as yet to leave. The prime reason for them to invade that land was to find another base as a stand-by in case their forces needed to vacate neighboring countries like Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. And now they have (Oil rich) Iran as their next target, while they have started another war in (oil-rich again) Somalia. All this is an indication that their motive is nothing but oil and keeping in mind the Bush belongs to Texas, and his personal involvement in the oil business, one can easily make out the actual game behind this drama.

You have your opinion of course, but there is MUCH more to this than Oil! Saudi Arabia know this more than anyone! Have you seen all the HUGE Million dollar complexes they are building to make it a land of where the Rich can go on vacation! The next big oil find is going to be in the Artic Regions!

I would just like to remind you of what Henry Kissinger once said: "...... it is best to let them kill each other off" for "oil is too valuable a commodity to be left in the hands of Arabs" This really helps understand what exactly is going on in gulf.
