I specialize in photographs of classic cars and I was wondering how to get into sales in the Stock Photography sector of the business.

The answer to this depends on your equipment and how good your photos are. If you're shooting with a digital SLR capable of 6MP images or more, and have access to an image upsizing program, then you should check out some of the more traditional stock agencies. Even if you don't get into them, you're better off trying before you go for microstock. Some traditional stock agencies won't even consider your application if you submit to microstock agencies. I would recommend you apply for Alamy, MyLoupe, Photographers Direct, and IfImages. Those are still rather open to new submitters, and will grab you a much better return than microstock will. If you're shooting with anything less than 6MP, then you'll be stuck with microstock for now. I would recommend Shutterstock and Dreamstime. Those two have been my top earners (ironic, a good number of my sales were from classic car shows and car cruises). Feel free to use my referrals if you're going to use the microstock sites: http://submit.shutterstock.com/?ref=65792 http://www.dreamstime.com/resp161996

I prefer ShutterStock, but if you want to know about other photo banks then visit http://www.moneyonline.co.nr/ . Anyway if you choose ShutterStock, then join using my referral link http://submit.shutterstock.com/?ref=88171 so I can make some extra dollars. Thank you.

Not sure if this is the info you need but I know Shutterstock.com pay for images to sell on their site. The submission guidelines are on their web site. There are probably other sites who accept images from the public as well.
