So what is your favorite casino/hotel in Las Vegas? What are some other things that one must do when they go to Las Vegas that don't involve gambling? And, does Las Vegas have a zoo?

I have not been to Las vegas yet,but it is listed as one of my interests and I will be following this discussion. My plan is to see Vegas in the next 12 months. I am not going for the gambling, but for the sites and sounds. Welcome to MyLot and I hope you have fun here as well as putting in some great discussions.

Thanks lonewolfnan. I hope to go to Vegas again someday and see more. I have to admit one of my favorite things was Madame Tussuad's Wax Museum. Also, Caesar's Palace has a lovely ceiling you will have to see for yourself. Only negative thing I can really say about LV is to be aware of the panhandlers. They are a-plenty and rather aggressive with trying to give you free tickets to things.

I've only tried playing at the Excalibur because that's where we stayed. But I loved seeing MGM and Bellagio! And Paris Las Vegas looked great from the outside. I heard Mandalay Bay's good too. I only stayed for one night but it was so amazing to see the lights at night. The fountains at Bellagio are magnificent. And it's good that they're free. :) MGM has a lion habitat; I don't know if there's a zoo in Las Vegas somewhere. I want to go back sometime because there are a lot of things I haven't seen and tried yet.

I like New York, New York the best! They make good drinks there, LOL! WE also liked the Luxor, Mandalay Bay , and the Venitian. I do not know if they have a zoo, but I think they have sharks at Man. Bay.

I'm a Vegas native so my Favorite casino would be The Hard Rock but I'm not a gambler either so I like them all.A big must for anyone visiting Vegas, well if you enjoy any kind of water activity, Lake Mead is a must they have boat and jet ski rentals, warm water, usually around 70 and 75 degrees and even if you just want to swim its great. There is various hiking trails around the Lake Mead and Red Rock canyon areas as well as Mount Charleston area, about a one hour drive north of the city and yes in fact there is a zoo in Las Vegas.

My favorite hotel/casino in Las Vegas was the Aladdin... it is now the Planet Hollywood. I'll find out in a month if it's still my favorite. Tops on my "Must-Do in Las Vegas " list Free: Watch the Bellagio fountains Cheap: See the Siegfried & Roy Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage. Not cheap: See a show (especially a Cirque du Soleil show) And of course, just walking around and taking it all in!
