java and .net both has good support. But as a technology leader, it will be good if you create your application on .NET enviorment, specially when you are targeting windows o/s. Microsofot is launching new OS known as Vista which will have .NET 3 version, that have more capability then a reguler faramwork provides. The OS internally support the framework and has speciall code according to Framework. I think for 64 bit machine (having vista) we will feel a grate speed difference b/w java and .NET applications.

The whole overall concept of JAVA and .NET are one or the same. We can say that .NET is made by placing it in front while making same as we copy any assignment and write some sentences in our own wordings. We can use both of them but in .NET we can use drag and drop method which makes it a little easier. Use of XML makes interoperatable. The easiness depends on the practice level of us. Even a JAVA programmer exceeds a .NET programmer or vice versa. Thats What I say all about the topic. Thanks and have a nice day.

Java is much better than .net. Developing applications might be easier with .Net than Java but the end result would be in favor of Java. Java applications are much powerful than .Net application. One important feature of Java is that it supports multiple platform. You develop an application in one OS, you run it on any OS with no or little change. It is multi platform and this feature is very important in todays Tech world since more and more OS are getting recognized.

.net is more easier for this many people use it but Java has more functions and stronger than .net but finally use what you'll like it more and feel comfortable with because not all people the same maybe what I see it difficult more seems easier to you so try the 2 first take only a look and decide.

personally, i prefer .net platform to Java . I dont know why .. Maybe because .net has all the functions and handles ready for use .. I dont prefer using JAVA in websites too .. But I must say, i am a great fan of Javasript ..
