Child abuse, wife abuse... there are many more. But does abuse only counts for the physical or can it also be emational? In most countries there are laws agains physical abuse, but what about emotional abuse. I have spoken to a phycologist and he said that emotional abuse is just as devesating as physical abuse.

I have talked to a head shrink too. And yes he told me that abuse is both emotional and physical. I went through alot of emotional and mental abuse, in my first marriage. The shrink told me if need be he would testify to this in court!

Abuse can either be verbal or physical. Verbal abuse can be just as devastating to the individual as physical abuse and leave long term emotional damage.

Many people espeacially women assume that if they're not being physically abused by their partner, then they're not being abused. That's not necessarily true. You may be in a relationship which is draining something from you -- you might not have recognized that your partner has eroded your self-esteem and happiness. If you suspect that your depression is being caused by, or intensified by, your relationship get help.

Abuse can be both physical and emotional. I was beaten up for 2 years by my ex but he also emotionally abused me and made me feel worthless. The physical abuse was pretty bad but i think it takes longer to recover from emotional abuse. It can take years to get your confidence back and realise that you DONT deserve it and you are worth alot more.
