It is a state of mind and expression. If it appeals to one's gf/wife, it makes a lot of sense and there may be reciprocation.

What I like in romance is a person who is interested in sharing feelings. A dinner, maybe a movie, or even a drive is relaxing and satisfying to me. I don't look for alot of money spent, just a sharing with a companion.
