There are a good many states now passing the law of not smoking when children are present in your car...I understand the idea behind this and being concerned with health of children, but at the same time I also feel our Civil Rights are being underminded here...what's next?..not being able to smoke in your own home????? then comes not being able to drink alcohol in your home...I think this is going too far...I'm all for protecting children and all, but as Americans we should have the right to do things in our private vehicles and homes...what's your opinion on this??

I find it a bit scary actually. It kind of reminds me of the book 1984 by George Orwell. Big Brother was watching everything in that book. It probably wont be long until that is happening here. I suppose it is already happening to a degree. As you said, I understand the reasons for doing this. But it really is taking away some freedoms that we are supposed to be so proud of.

yes, and i can go along with not smoking in public buildings, even go along with not smoking on hospital property, etc...but i feel it's starting a dangerous trend that will be hard to stop...thank you for sharing your views

i don't see anything wrong with laws such as the one you're talking. It is only meant to protect the public. sometimes our individual interest should yield to the interest of the greater public.

i understand that, but do you want someone next to tell you what you can or can't eat or do in the privacy of your home? It just worries me that this whole thing will be carried too far..thank you for responding
